ISLA DE PÁJAROS

The town of Isla Aguada is an obligatory stop for thousands of people who travel the Unity Bridge, the beginning of the highway that connects the states of Campeche and Tabasco. The town is located on the edge of a coastal lagoon with waters from the Gulf of Mexico, which gives it a peculiar landscape to enjoy.

The Isla de Pájaros cooperative society is made up of local families who, since 2003, have taken advantage of the growing interest in visitors to the community to offer boat tours of the lagoon. Over the years the organization has increased its services by offering lodging in air-conditioned rooms, a restaurant with dishes made with ingredients from the sea and boat tours around the lagoon for dolphin and bird watching.
