SÍIJIL NOH HÁ

Síijil Noh Ha, which in Mayan means "where the great water is born", is a community enterprise of sustainable tourism located in Ocom. A beautiful lagoon system made up of 7 lagoons located south of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.

In 2006 the ejido initiated the "Síijil Noh Ha" project. The proposal was to create a place that could offer visitors adventure and fun in the lagoon and the opportunity to get to know the fauna and flora, the eyes of water and the culture of the place; but at the same time promote the conservation of the natural and cultural wealth of the territory. From then on, support opportunities were sought and three years later, on June 27, 2009, it was inaugurated.

This ecotourism center is located in the center of an ejido reserve called Much Kanan Ka'ax, which means "together we take care of the jungle" in the Mayan language. With an extension of 1,230 hectares and located 6 km west of the Sian Ka'an reserve, in the center of the state of Quintana Roo. The region is rich in biodiversity and this project protects endangered species.

Services range from kayak rentals to venture into the crystal clear waters of its lagoons, visit a cenote, bird watching and other species in interpretive trails and the possibility of admiring colorful sunsets from its viewpoint and rustic palapas. For a peaceful and quiet stay, the company also offers lodging in cabins and food service with previous reservation.
